With the unusual and quirky combination of activities, Café Rasa pays a tribute to Foutainhas through its design, culture and spirit.

Café Rasa is not just a café or a co working space or an exhibition space, it is a space for everyone and everything. Situated on the third floor of a heritage building in Fountainhas (an old Latin Quarter of Panjim), it faces the Mandovi River in the north and the Latin Quarter in the south. When one enters Rasa, the first thing you see is the vibrant architecture and colours of Fountainhas, the ambience of which represents the traditional Portuguese influence in the area. This pretty much set the trend for the interiors.

We wanted to give the people walking into the cafe a glimpse of Fountainhas without overwhelming them. Using the colours we see in the surrounding buildings, we kept the look minimal, soft and sleek.

Every room in the cafe was designed and custom made having its own theme while keeping the user in mind. Whether it was a café, art gallery, a conference room, a film makers studio, or a clothes boutique, the spaces encourage interaction at every level yet giving one a sense of privacy and isolation. We wanted to ensure that the design stays relevant in the near future and pushed the boundaries of current trends with a historic influence.
